Blue Ivy Is Beyonce's Best Friend and Other Things We Learned From Her 'Vogue' Interview

Bey says her baby is her "homey" and that she reads gossip about herself

It's been a whirlwind few weeks for Beyonce, and life is only going to get crazier for the 31-year-old from here. As she prepares for The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour and the release of her new album, Queen B won't have much time to settle down.

At least, as it was detailed in the March issue of Vogue, she did have some time to relax prior to heading into this new chapter of her career. The lengthy cover story shows a new side of Beyonce that we haven't seen before, and introduced us to five new facts about the "Run the World (Girls)" singer.

Blue Ivy Is Her Best Friend
No, really. Beyonce brought Blue Ivy, now over a year old, to the Vogue interview with her, and when she heard her daughter cry out, she smiled. "She’s my road dog," Beyonce said of her child with Jay-Z. "She’s my homey, my best friend."

Beyonce Talked Blue Ivy Through Childbirth
When it came to giving birth, Beyonce said she felt a connection with her daughter. "I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn’t think about my own pain," she explained. "We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication."

Her HBO Documentary Will Show A New Side Of the Singer
Bey said that she is revealing her true self in her documentary, Life Is But A Dream, when it debuts February 16 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. "My story has never been told," she said. "No one really knows who I am." Well, we're about to, as one of the moments the movie will reportedly show is Blue Ivy's sonogram.

Her Father Taught Her What She Knows About Business
In 2011, Beyonce decided to split from her father Mathew Knowles as her business manager. This difficult time is something that is detailed in Life If But A Dream, and Bey at first says, "My soul has been tarnished." Now she's seeing the positive side of things, though. "My father taught me so much about being a businesswoman," she explained. "And I’m understanding him a lot now. ... A lot of the crazy things he did were necessary."

She Reads Gossip About Herself
Though some celebrities claim that they have never read a story about themselves, Beyonce admits to having read a few. Just a few, though, and definitely not the comments -- Beyonce refuses to read any more than just the story. "Don’t scroll down!" she advised with a laugh. "You’re definitely going to get your feelings hurt."
