Valentine's Day 2012 will be extra sweet for Beyonce and husband Jay-Z. The mother-to-be announced on Australia's Sunday Night TV program that her baby is due in February.
During the popular Aussie show, the 30-year-old musical diva explained that the timing of her first pregnancy is absolutely perfect. And in the November issue of Harper's Bazaar, she elaborates on why now's the right time for her to become a mom.
"It was important to me that I gave myself time to focus on becoming the woman I want to be, building my empire, my relationship, and my self-worth, before I became a mother," the singer says. "Now God has blessed us with the ultimate."
Beyonce also reveals that having a good partner is a big part of what makes her ready to start a family. "We have been together since I was 20 years old. We took our time and developed an unbreakable friendship before we got married," she says. "But, like anything great and successful in your life, marriage takes hard work and sacrifice. It has to be something both you and your husband deeply want."
Knowles first revealed her pregnancy at the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 28. She showed off her baby bump in a body-skimming white gown and caused an international Twitter trend about her big announcement.
The singer also displayed her maternal curves in her new "Countdown" video, which premiered earlier this month.
"I think a woman's curves when she is pregnant are so beautiful," she told the Associated Press earlier this year. "I don't want to get matronly, and I still find things that are sensual and feminine and funky. I have been mixing different textures and suit jackets and blazers. I don't want to be in the same dress every day."
