Beyonce

While her philanthropic efforts are something she doesn't talk about, Beyonce has been very involved throughout her career even using her concerts and music videos to influence her fans to make a change. In 2005, Beyonce teamed with her fellow Destiny Child member Kelly Rowland to create the Survivor Foundation and provide transitional housing to victims of Hurrican Katrina who lost their homes. In 2010, Beyonce and her mother Tina opened a cosmetology center for recovery drug addicts to teach them skills and give them hope for employment after they conquer their addiction. Beyonce donates $100,000 a year to the center. Late last year, the singer became an ambassador for the World Humanitarian Day campaign and used her "I Was Here" music video to raise money as well as awareness. Even while the star is currently on tour she has teamed up with GoodWill and asked her fans attending shows to donate gently worn clothes at her shows. "Goodwill helps people get back to work by providing education, job training and placement,” Beyoncé said. “I wanted to team up with an organization that puts people first and works every day to help them improve and re-establish their lives.”
