Only Beyonce Would Describe Childbirth This Way (At Least It's Not 'Orgasmic')

The act of childbirth is a lot of things. Yes, in hindsight it's usually a miraculous, joyous -- feat, but in the moment? Words like "painful," "agonizing," "mortifying" and "terrifying" come to mind. Certainly not "sensual."

In a new interview with GQ magazine, which put Beyonce on the cover of its "Sexiest Women of the 21st Century" February issue, the singer says giving birth to her baby girl Blue Ivy brought out her sensual side.

"When I gave birth, that was the first time I truly let go and surrendered," she tells the magazine. "And it taught me how amazing that feels...Giving birth made me realize the power of being a woman. I have so much more substance in my life. And expressing that excitement and that sensuality and the connection I have with my husband -- I'm a lot more comfortable with that now. I actually feel like my child introduced me to myself."

Wait. So, essentially, she's saying squeezing a baby out made her feel sexier? Wow. Maybe stars really aren't just like us. Between the raw exposure of lying there in a flimsy hospital gown, with your feet up in stirrups, all the bodily fluids everywhere, the strangers in the room and the seemingly unending pain? No, Beyonce. We did not feel even the tiniest bit sensual. (Or orgasmic as some claim is possible.) Giving birth is powerful, but, during the process, we felt the strong need to curse our husband for doing this to us. That was really the main connection we felt.

But we love you, anyway, B! And, we do agree having a child helps you discover things about yourself you never knew. So, if giving birth makes you feel sensual, kudos to you. No wonder you're one of the sexiest women of the century.
