People! Is It Really That Hard to Make the Super Bowl Family-Friendly?

Moms are talking about Beyonce's racy performance last night at the Super Bowl. Do you think it was too sexy for kids?

The Twitterverse was busy making jokes that Beyonce's sizzling, super-sexy half-time performance was the real reason the lights went out during last night's Super Bowl. And, this morning, plenty of parents were wishing the power outage would have occurred a few minutes sooner, saving them from having to physically shield their kids' eyes.

Look, there is no denying Beyonce's body is ree-dic-ulous. But, honestly, is it really necessary to dress in such a skimpy outfit, busting out totally seductive gyrations, thrusts and booty shakin', when you know there are so many youngsters watching? From the moment she tossed off her black leather Rubin Singer motorcycle jacket to reveal the designer's sexy leather bodysuit and fishnet stockings, we were holding our breath, just waiting for a Janet Jackson-style wardrobe malfunction.

Thankfully, we were spared having to explain that one to our second graders. Listen, we are totally for self-expression. And we get that everyone sets their bar for what exactly is "family-friendly" at a different place. (What's fine for us might still have other parents reeling.) But, come on, Beyonce: Would it have killed you to throw on a pair of hot pants or maybe just keep your hands away from your groin? Would it really have been such a big deal to tone down the act -- just a smidge -- when you know there are so many kids watching? Guess we just weren't ready for all that jelly.
