Superstar Beyonce released the music video for her new ballad "1+1" on Aug. 25 -- just days before she's scheduled to perform at Sunday's MTV VMAs.
Directed by Beyonce herself, with a little help from Laurent Briet and Ed Burke, the sensual video shows the glittering pop star, 29, staring into the camera and pleading with her man to make love to her. At one point, the emotion becomes so intense that tears begin rolling down her cheeks.
"If I ain't got nothin', I got you," she belts.
Beyonce is known for busting out her impressive dance moves in her more uptempo videos -- such as the now-iconic "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)" video. And after the defiant battle cry of "Run the World (Girls)," the earlier single from her new album 4, a vulnerable and pleading Beyonce was not what the public expected. But with "1+1," the Grammy winner slows things down and shows her range as a performer.
Watch Beyonce perform live at the 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards, airing live Sunday, Aug. 28, at 9 p.m. ET.
