We previously covered New Orleans' bounce-queen (whatever that is exactly) Big Freedia in his attempt to set a Guinness World Record in New York City for the "Most People Twerking Simultaneously."
The attempt to have over 250 people shake their junk around all at once took place on Wednesday, and we have some dramatic reenactments of what (we think) it may have looked like:
So now that you were basically there, you probably know that the 358 people who turned up to partake in being a part of history (a loose term here) are currently, sort of, world-recordless as their attempt has been CHALLENGED.
Apparently back in August at the Teen Choice Awards, 1,945 people shook their rumps all at once and the website RecordSetter.com was on hand to make sure sure everyone followed the record-setting rules to a T.
While RecordSetter.com and Gunniess are obviously different entities, no word yet on how this apparent claim will affect Big Freedia's record. Though in an instagram video she basically closed the argument down saying "I'm the world record of twerking. Girl down." Well put your highness.
