Big Love Recap: July 2
Adaleen, mother of Nicolette, saves the day in this week’s episode. Although Barb calls her a “cold” woman (and I think that she is usually completely twisted), Adaleen comes through by destroying a piece of evidence, which would have incriminated her son-in-law, Bill, and his brother, Joey. Again, Big Love changes my mind about a character, however, there is a huge chance Adaleen will do something awful in the following episodes.
This week’s episode is definitely full of character twists. Rhonda, someone I once sympathized with (I mean, who wants to marry a 75 year old man at 14?!) becomes someone I really hate, as she takes on the role of a bitchy, manipulative teenager, blackmailing Nicolette with the secret of her father’s transgression so that she can stay at the Henrickson home. Not only does Rhonda take advantage of Nicolette’s position, she puts the whole Henrickson family in danger, as she is a fugitive. Her dissapearance is known throughout Juniper Creek, and Roman sends two police men from the compound to retrieve her. Though not found, (thank goodness for Don and his truck) … Rhonda is someone I am surely worried about!
Another character twist is recognized as Lois, a woman who rarely ventures away from being truly unpleasant, takes her nastiness and puts it to good use as she attempts to manipulate Wanda into killing the DA at her husband’s court case. Although, a serious crime and probably not the best idea, Lois makes her best attempt at protecting her beloved sons. Because of Adaleen's good deed, (the killing of the DA was not necessary) Joey is let free and Bill is finally calm. However, drama strikes the Henrickson family again in the final few minutes of the episode. An angered Nicolette, reved up by an altercation with her mother, divulges the secret that her father, Roman, exposed her family. Now, all of the wives know and it is up to Nicolette to tell Bill the big news and possibly risk her relationship with him. Again, Big Love leaves me at the edge of my seat. I can't wait to see what happens with Rhonda, Nicolette, and Bill in next week's episode!
