The Biggest Loser's Tanya Winfield Dishes on Week 2 and Losing Her Roommate

In her exclusive blog for iVillage, Tanya Winfield talks about the first team challenge and the first contestant eliminated from 'The Biggest Loser'

We're on a roll!

The Notorious Week 2 is here and we’re all adjusting to our new life on the ranch. Many of us are starting the process of peeling back emotional layers to get to the root cause of what actually got us here in the first place. The common emotional theme of the week was family (loss, gains, accountability and forgiveness). These events motivated us to draw closer as we supported each other through the week.

We’re on a roll now and nothing can stop us, literally. Yep, it was the first challenge of the season and all teams were fighting hard to win an additional dice roll to select the "lucky" team member to represent their team during weigh-in. This challenge was one of the most physically exhausting activities I had ever done in my life (well, not compared to child birth) LOL. Running back and forth over a hill, carrying buckets of water, while tethered together may look easy on TV, but trust me, it was brutal. I desperately wanted the advantage of the extra roll, just in case the dice rolled on me during the weigh in. Not because I didn’t work hard this week, but I was concerned about how my body would respond on the scale from losing 16 pounds last week. The Blue team won over the Red Team by less than half a bucket and definitely used the additional roll in their favor.

This weigh-in was extremely intense, yet bittersweet. In true fashion, my biggest fear for weigh-in became an immediate reality. The DICE LANDED ON ME, the one person on the Red Team who didn’t want it. Fernanda's elimination was the most difficult part of my week. Not only did it boil down to Fernanda (of all people) versus me in the weigh-in, but she was my favorite person at the ranch and my roommate. She and I had an immediate bond from the first day we met in casting. We laughed and cried together, we motivated each other, and we vowed to be lifelong friends no matter what happed on the ranch. And we still are. But the best part of the week is that even though I didn’t feel confident enough to represent the Red Team, I won the weigh-in! Our team will remain intact another week and I can continue on my Biggest Loser journey. #GoRedTeam
