Archery for Kids

From Katniss Everdeen of The Hunger Games fame and Merida from Brave to TV's Arrow and Revolution (oh, and let's not forget about The Avengers' Hawkeye), archery has shot straight to the heart of pop culture fame -- and kids can't get enough of it. In fact, the sport is growing at an unprecedented rate "as a direct result of archery in films and the popularity of the sport in the Olympic and Paralympic Games,” says Teresa Iaconi, spokesperson for USA Archery, adding that membership increased 25 percent in 2012 and that event attendance is at an all-time high for youth divisions. So, will your Katniss-worshipping kid be asking for an archery party for her next birthday? The odds are ever in your favor.
