The Honest Company Diapers

Here's a dirty fact: On average, babies go through 8,000 disposable diapers before they're potty trained -- and even the cutest cloth and hybrid options haven't replaced disposables for most moms. When it comes to diapers, anyway, being green is just too much work…right?

Not this year. Enter Jessica Alba and former Healthy Child, Healthy World CEO Christopher Gavigan, who teamed up in 2012 to launch an all natural baby and home care company called The Honest Company -- and in the process, have made it a whole lot easier for mainstream moms to be more eco-friendly. To be honest (no pun intended) many of the moms we know are absolutely obsessed with this company in a way we haven't seen for all the well-meaning eco-diapers before them. The reason? Honest Company products promise to be free from pretty much anything nasty (phthalates, parabens, chlorine, dyes) while being high performing and, in the case of the plant-based diapers, super cute. (They're available in a dozen patterns, from stars to skulls to snowflakes.)

"It's amazing how a celebrity face and some fun illustrations can exponentially broaden the audience and awareness for greener products," says Paige Wolfe, green mom and author of Spit That Out. "Plus, Honest Co. diapers are affordable and convenient ["bundles" of diapers and wipes or home- and personal care products are delivered monthly to your door], so parents have no excuse not to give them a shot." And as one iVillage mom can attest, the company nails customer service. We think a star has been born…
