Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley's daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, was hospitalized Saturday after a reported possible suicide attempt. The 23-year-old singer was rushed to St. Vincent's Hospital in New York after a call was placed to 911 operators that afternoon.

According to the New York Post, a female friend of Alexa's called for help Saturday afternoon, and told the 911 operator that Alexa had taken a bunch of pills and wanted to die. Later in the day, a spokesperson for the family said, "Alexa is stable. Her doctors are assessing her needs and that's all we can say at this moment." People.com reports that Alexa may have been upset over a recent relationship and downed a number of Traumeel pills, which is a homeopathic medicine commonly used as a pain reliever.

Alexa, who is the only child of Billy and Christie, was released from the hospital on Sunday and is reportedly in the care of her father. She is currently scheduled to perform two shows on December 10 in NYC.
