On 'The Town'



Blake Lively started off her new year with a bang and a Boston accent in The Town. The role was a departure from anything the Gossip Girl starlet had done before, and originally the role wasn't even meant for her. “This part was originally supposed to be for a 37-year-old woman -- she’s a mother -- but when I read the script, I knew I had to have the part. It was selfish of me. I worried I would ruin it for other people. But I had to try it," she told Allure mazgazine magazine. The movie went on to be both a critical and box-office success, and convinced audiences Lively could pull off more dramatic roles.
