Gossip Girl star Blake Lively has ditched her well-known blonde locks and gone over to the fiery red side!
Lively, who was recently named the new face of Chanel handbags and made TIME magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world, is known for her leggy beauty and willowy blonde hair. But, according to People magazine, Lively had colorist Rona O'Connor dye her hair a month ago -- and Lively made her debut as a redhead this past Tuesday at the TIME 100 Gala in New York City.
Lively informed People that the drastic change was about more than just a fresh look. "It’s for the film Hick," she said. "I thought (my character) needed red hair. It helps when you're playing a role, when I don't feel like myself. And I don't really feel like myself with red hair."
While Lively may not feel like herself, there is someone else she does feel like: "I love it. I feel like Ariel" (of Little Mermaid, of course). We dig the comparison -- do you?
