As cute couples go, it's hard to beat the pairing of adorable country star Blake Shelton and equally adorable country star Miranda Lambert. We'd hate to think that their marriage was in trouble after less than two years -- but that's the rumor that's going around. Is it just gossip, or are the "Over You" and "Honey Bee" singers hitting a rough patch? Here's everything we know, from rumors of infidelity to the couple's own comments.
Miranda may have turned down an opportunity to join Blake on The Voice. According to RadarOnline, Shelton, who is a judge on the show, extended an invitation for Lambert to be his celebrity mentor. Though she had a good reason to say "no" (she's on tour), her decision reportedly caused tension in the marriage.
Blake has been getting flirty with singer Cady Groves. Anyone who's watched The Voice is aware that Shelton is a big flirt, but his recent Twitter interactions with Nashville artist Cady Groves have raised some eyebrows. (He has helped mentor the 23-year-old singer, and made a cameo in her first music video two years ago.) There are reports that Miranda has warned Cady to back off.
Blake may have cheated before...with Miranda. Shelton was still married to high school sweetheart Kaynette Williams when he and Miranda met, and the line between the relationships is a bit fuzzy. Could that be why Miranda has admitted to monitoring his text messages and private tweets?
Miranda doesn't believe in divorce. Miranda has said that "divorce is not an option" for her and Blake. "We really love each other and have a real marriage outside of all of this," she told red carpet reporters at this year's ACM Awards. "When this is all said and done, we will be drinking a beer together on a front porch somewhere, reminiscing about the good old days. That's what I'm happy about." Aww!
Blake and Miranda think all the rumors are funny. This is the thing that gives us the most hope! When confronted by Gayle King about cheating rumors on CBS This Morning, Blake smiled and said, "I love it! I just know, to have that kind of coverage, if I'm popular enough they want to put me and Miranda on that stuff -- that's awesome. I have an album coming out! Put my album right next to it and pick it up." Around the same time, he and Miranda had this amazing Twitter exchange:
Hey @mirandalambert... I just read in a tabloid that our marriage is falling apart!!! FOCK!!!— Blake Shelton (@blakeshelton) March 18, 2013
“@mirandalambert: Oh no! Can't wait to read if we make it or not”Ba! Ha! Ha! You see y'all!!! I'm making her funnier!!!— Blake Shelton (@blakeshelton) March 18, 2013
How could you not root for these two?
