Blend Away Your Blemishes

Problem: Acne

Solution: Careful application of foundation and concealer

Wash your face and apply a moisturizer as recommended by your dermatologist (typically oil-free). If your skin is acne-prone, use an astringent. With a cosmetic brush, sponge or clean fingers, apply a thin layer of oil-free foundation with a matte finish to minimize shine. Apply concealer in the same shade as your foundation to prominent blemishes or acne cysts and use the brush to blend gently into the skin around the blemish. Lightly dip a cotton swab into loose face powder, and roll across the blemish. Don’t apply blush to broken-out areas, as it could draw attention to these spots. Distract from acne-prone areas by wearing bright lipstick or eye shadow in a shade that complements your outfit.
