The Blink-182 Movie (And 5 We'd Rather See)

An amateur filmmaker recently announced that he's making a drama about the early days of his favorite band: Blink-182. The movie will follow the story of the "What's My Age Again?" band's three original members -- Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Scott Raynor -- as they move from garage band to pop-punk sensation, dumping Raynor along the way for one of the band's best-known members, Travis Barker.

Unfortunately for director Brandon Flores, he can't get the cooperation of the Blink guys -- which means he has to make the film unauthorized, and (ouch) without songs. We think he should just cut his losses and move on. To help him out, we've thought of some more interesting bands to bring to the big screen.

Here are 5 bands we'd rather see a movie about:

The White Stripes - An ambitious detroit furniture-store worker (Jack White) with a garage band falls in love with a local bartender (Meg White) and convinces her to learn drums. The marriage doesn't work out but the band does, so they tell the world that they're siblings. How great a movie would that be?

The Velvet Underground - Andy Warhol formed this band as an experimental art project -- it's practically a coincidence that they were so good. And anything involving Andy Warhol makes a good movie.

She & Him - Because Zooey Deschanel could play herself!

Fleetwood Mac - At some point, every member of this band was sleeping with every other. And writing songs about it. It's a musical waiting to happen.

Led Zeppelin - The notorious debauchery of the first heavy metal band, right at the end of the free love era -- oh wait, they made this one. It was called Almost Famous.
