Bobbi Kristina Brown is finally back home in Atlanta after grieving her mother's death in Los Angeles and then attending her funeral in New Jersey. With Whitney Houston laid to rest, her seemingly inconsolable daughter is slowly becoming more functional.
"She's doing okay," a source close to the family tells People. "She's still obviously got a lot to deal with but she's doing a little better each day, and being back home in Atlanta seems to be a good thing."
Brown, 18, was in Los Angeles with her mother attending Grammys festivities when Whitney was found dead in the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Feb. 11. After her mother's sudden death, Brown was hospitalized twice to treat her grief-induced breakdown.
Before Houston's funeral, her ex-husband (and Bobbi Kristina's father) Bobby Brown released a statement saying he was going to stand by his daughter.
"We continue to provide love and support to Bobbi Kristina," Bobby, 43, said in a statement. "She is dealing with the tragedy of her mother's death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye. I ask again that our privacy be respected."
And Houston's family has reportedly surrounded their beloved "Krissy" in the aftermath of Houston's death. According to the source, Bobbi Kristina's grandmother Cissy Houston and the rest of her older relatives have been watching her closely as she mourns.
"She is a strong girl," says Ellin LaVar, Houston's former hairstylist, who did Brown's hair for the viewing on Feb. 17. "I think with support she will make it through this."
