Following the death of his ex-wife Whitney Houston, singer Bobby Brown has rushed to their daughter Bobbi Kristina's side to comfort her during this time of grief.
Brown, who was married to Houston for nearly 15 years, was scheduled to perform in Nashville on Sunday. But instead he flew to Los Angeles to be with his daughter, who had been hospitalized twice since her mother was found dead in the bathtub of the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday afternoon.
The singer arrived at LAX airport at 9 p.m. Sunday with a large entourage of family and friends.
"Bobby had a blank stare and looked exhausted," an observer told People. "His friends seemed concerned about him and they surrounded him as they walked through the airport."
The "My Prerogative" singer's agent Jeff Strom explained why Brown left his reunion tour with New Edition to fly to L.A.: "His love for his daughter and his daughter being in the hospital. He wants to go be with his daughter."
Brown, 43, released a statement to Extra Sunday night about his daughter's condition.
"Today my daughter did visit with doctors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She has been released and is presently with my family, including her siblings," he said. "Obviously the death of her mother is affecting her, however, we will get through this tragedy as a family. Again, I ask for privacy during this time."
Brown himself broke down on Saturday during a New Edition concert in Mississippi. "I love you, Whitney," he said weepily from the stage.
