Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown had a totally understandable emotional breakdown following her mother's death -- but her father Bobby Brown says she's "doing much better" now.
"We continue to provide love and support to Bobbi Kristina," Bobby, 43, said in a statement on Wednesday. "She is dealing with the tragedy of her mother's death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye. I ask again that our privacy be respected."
Bobbi Kristina, 18, was reportedly in the lobby of the Beverly Hilton when her mother was pronounced dead on the afternoon of Saturday, Feb. 12. Inconsolable after the sudden passing of her mother, Bobbi Kristina was checked into Cedars Sinai Medical Center on Saturday night, then again on Sunday morning, for "stress and anxiety." On Sunday night, Bobby Brown issued a statement saying that Bobbi Kristina had been released from the hospital, and was now being comforted by her family and siblings (Brown's four children from other relationships). On Sunday, Brown officially left the New Edition reunion tour to be with his daughter during this difficult time.
"Obviously the death of her mother is affecting her, however, we will get through this tragedy as a family," Bobby, who was married to Houston from 1992 to 2007, told the press.
Whitney Houston's funeral will take place on Saturday at noon in her hometown of Newark, New Jersey. Radar Online reports that Bobby Brown is expected to attend, despite his rocky relationship with Houston's family.
