Here's some pretty explosive news: Authorities were called to George Clooney's Italian villa this week, after an arsenal of World War II bombs were found on the grounds close to his Lake Como home.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the set of unexploded bombs included hand grenades, aircraft bombs, and mortars, and were all found underwater near the actor's lakeside home. The explosives are thought to have been dropped by a plane during the second World War.
The Italian navy was called in to recover the bombs, and authorities sealed off the surrounding town of Laglio on Wednesday to allow specialist teams to defuse the devices.
Always one to have a sense of humor about things, Clooney found a way to joke about the dangerous situation. "This is not the first bomb I've experienced," he quipped.
