Book Review: 'Here Comes Halloween!'

Here Comes Halloween is probably among the board books stacked now on a holiday table at your bookstore. Author and illustrator Caroline Jayne Church is a prolific creator of appealing, simple books for babies, most with touch-and-feel elements and plump, expressive characters drawn simply but with great charm.

There’s nothing outstanding about this little book, which tells of a toddler deciding between costumes, but I’m a big fan of Halloween buildup for young children (both to extend the festivities and to prepare them for what can be a very overwhelming night). If your pre-Halloween plans include a book, this is a nice one.
