Savvy celebrities know the power of a good tweet. For one thing, it keeps fans up-to-date on their fabulous lives. But at least one star, 22-year-old rapper Bow Wow, is experiencing a downside to Twitter: his status updates have apparently been letting his mother track his every move and tweet back some nagging.
According to Gawker.com, Bow Wow's Twitter showdown with Mom -- Atlanta boutique owner Teresa Caldwell -- began on New Year’s Eve, when he wrote that he was driving his Lamborghini while drunk. His followers chimed in, then Mom joined in, tweeting a virtual slap on the wrist.
Then she added embarrassing tweets like this one: “It’s time for Bow 2 spend some QT with me now. He’s been with JD all day. I’m leaving 2morrow. That’s how sons r. Daughters aren’t like that.”
Turns out Bow Wow's mom also keeps in touch with Bow Wow’s industry friends via Twitter. She wrote to @KimKardashian asking for weight loss tips, and @Ciara and @Nelly_MO just to say, What’s up?
Bow Wow has asked his mother to get off Twitter -- or else. “Delete your account," he tweeted. "Or im deleting mine and my fans are going to be mad at you."
Yet again, Caldwell used a tweet to out her son in his place. “Bow, u should never try to stop a person from saying inspirational words. God want (sic) us to spread his words and help each other.” According to Gawker.com, Bow Wow gave in and ended up deleting his anti-mom tweet -- and his mom is still tweeting away.
