Call them what you will: man boobs, moobs, breasticles, man-ories or even gynecomastia if you want to get scientific.
But some dudes have breasts — shouldn’t they be granted a little garment support?
The Bro and Manssiere, aside (thank you Cosmo Kramer and Frank Costanza), until now there hasn’t been a big market for male breast lifters. Enter the Funkybod Muscle Top.
The Huffington Post points us to this U.K. company’s website, where, for about $50, you can buy an undershirt made with chest, shoulder, bicep and tricep plates to pump you up.
Now, originally according to Funkybod’s “Manboob info” page, the shirt was designed as a muscle top to make skinny guys look more buff, but “because of the way it is designed, there is a marked improvement in the look if the wearer has the typical visual manboob issues when wearing a shirt. … This led us to experiment with larger men and look into the manboob issue further.”
Tested in gyms and by joggers, according to the Funkybod website, the shirts are reportedly comfortable for “both long-term wear and strenuous activity.”
So, if you’re feeling like your man could use a little lift, this may do the trick. Hey, we have Spanx and push-up bras, why should we deny men the same pick-me-ups?
