Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have jumped into generosity mode to help the victims of the massive earthquake that struck Haiti on Tuesday.
After pledging their support Wednesday to the victims of the 7.0-scale earthquake, Pitt and Jolie have taken their activism to the next level. The charitable couple donated $1 million to Doctors Without Borders, which is providing emergency medical assistance to Haitians affected by the disaster.
"It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades," Jolie, who has served as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador since 2001, said in a statement.
"We understand the first response is critical to serve the immediate needs of countless people who are now displaced from their homes, are suffering trauma, and most require urgent care," Pitt added.
