It's a genetically blessed girl!
As expected, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's bundle of joy arrived today. Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt was born on May 27, at night, in Namibia at The Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund.
Angelina is expected to remain in the hospital for a couple days.
According to iVillage's baby name finder, Shiloh is a boy's name and its religious association is Biblical. Another baby name source says it's of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is "His gift." Also possibly "he who was sent."
This is the third child – first biological – for Brangelina. They also have a 4-year-old named Maddox and a 1-year-old named Zahara. Brad is in the process of adopting them – they took the name Jolie-Pitt earlier this year.
The Pitts have been in Namibia since April, hiding away at a resort under the protection of local authorities. They have been mixing with the locals though. Last week Brad came under fire for taking Zahara on a bike ride without a helmet; Angelina gave an interview to Ann Curry at the end of April. The Namibian government recently said foreign journalists intending to cover the birth of the baby must have written permission from Brad and Angelina to enter the country.
News broke that Angelina was pregnant back in January. We've had 100s of baby name suggestions in our little Name Brad & Angelina's Baby forum – though they apparently decided to forgo suggestions like Arm Pitt and Peach Pitt for the name Shiloh Nouvel.
Now the game is on for a photo of the perfect little one. Word is, there's a $4 million dollar bounty for the first photo of this kid.
