Brad Pitt's Movie Wins Top Prize in Cannes

Brad Pitt has done it again! The actor's latest film, Tree of Life, took home the prestigious Palme d'Or award at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday.

However, the movie -- which also stars Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain -- surprisingly received mixed reviews from movie-goers at the festival.

It was also an incredible day for Kirsten Dunst, who won best actress for her role in Melancholia. Though those associated with the film had plenty of drama to deal with this past week, as director Lars von Trier was banned from Cannes for his pro-Hitler comments.

French actor Jean Dujardin won the prize for best actor for his role in the silent film The Artist, while Nicolas Winding Refn was honored as best director for his film Drive.

Prizes were awarded by the nine-member jury headed by Robert De Niro. The panel also included actors Uma Thurman and Jude Law.
