Brandi Glanville thinks that LeAnn Rimes is so jealous of her, she had to go to rehab to get over it. During a visit to Bravo's Watch What Happens Live, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star took some serious potshots at her ex-husband Eddie Cibrian's new wife -- and even made fun of the country singer's recent trip to rehab. Watch the jaw-dropping clip below!
Given her contentious history with Rimes, we're not surprised that Glanville took the bait when a WWHL caller asked this question: "Does Brandi think that LeAnn is a little jealous of her, now that [Brandi] is more of a household name?"
After hedging for a second (but just a second!), Brandi coolly responded, "I think that she was jealous of me before anyone knew who I was."
When host Andy Cohen asked if the jealousy had gotten worse since Glanville became a reality star, Brandi nodded.
"Hel-lo! She went to Twee-hab!" Glanville laughed. "It’s rehab for social media anxiety. I swear."
Fellow guest Willie Geist expressed disbelief that "Twee-hab" actually existed, but Brandi was adamant, saying it's for when "[you get so upset about] what strangers are saying about you, that you have to go to a facility."
Now, in Brandi's defense, LeAnn Rimes has admitted to the media that her emotional breakdown, for which she checked into a 30-day treatment program, was triggered by social media anxiety.
"I think it’s really hard to deal with Twitter and Facebook and all these social media outlets," Rimes told Katie Couric at the end of October. "And it’s hard to take it day after day of reading and seeing things that someone you don’t even know says about you. As much as you said you don’t want it to penetrate, it does, because you’re human."
So yes, Twitter had something to do with Rimes' problem. But we're guessing it wasn't the whole issue; after all, if the problem was entirely Twitter-related, couldn't Rimes have just deleted her account? A 30-day rehab program is serious business, and for Glanville to laugh it off is beyond classless. Even worse, Glanville appears to be gleefully taking credit for Rimes' breakdown, implying that the singer is so jealous of her that any tweeted mention of Brandi sends her into a downward spiral. (Maybe after a year or two of starring on Housewives, you really do start to think that everything is about you.)
Yes, Brandi Glanville has an understandable grudge against LeAnn Rimes, since Cibrian left her and their two small children to be with the singer (who was also married at the time). But three years later, Rimes is the legal stepmother to those children, and the trash talking seems highly inappropriate. We recommend that she go back to her attitude of just a few months ago, when she told Us Weekly that she supported Rimes' rehab decision -- because "my top priority is my children, and at the end of the day we are a family." And she didn't use the word "Twee-hab" once.
