"Some people call her mean, one person calls her Mom." That's how fashion insider Kelly Cutrone is introduced on her Bravo reality show, Kell on Earth, which has its first season finale on Monday. Cutrone, owner of the in-demand public relations firm People's Revolution -- which was previously featured on MTV's The City and The Hills -- is a self-proclaimed dichotomy, describing herself both as a "ball-busting power girl" and a "1950s housewife." Though Cutrone, 44, isn't a wife (she says she'll never get married again), she is a single mom to daughter Ava, 7.
In an exclusive iVillage interview, we asked Cutrone about being criticized for her overly assertive personality. "I'm a business woman. I'm a for-profit business, and I'm there to get a job done," Cutrone says. "I don't understand why that's seen as mean. To me that's called professional." Embracing a communication style some might call abrasive, Cutrone has created a new definition for the dreaded B-word: a Babe In Total Control of Herself.
Unlike some reality shows, Cutrone says Kell on Earth is extremely real. In fact, she wishes it were less real! "The only thing that they wanted to do that I actually had enough power to prevent was they wanted to come into my house and shoot me waking up in the morning," Cutrone laughs. "This is what I look like when I get ready. Could you imagine?"

'Kell on Earth' airs on Bravo Monday nights at 10 p.m.
