Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson may have thought their Twilight years were behind them -- but now it's time for Edward and Bella's swan song. In a note posted to Facebook on Saturday, Breaking Dawn - Part 2 director Bill Condon revealed that he, Rob and Kristen will be returning to Canada to do reshoots for the final Twilight film.
"It's truly crazy to think that it's been a year since we wrapped production in Vancouver, since for those of us in the editing room the work has never stopped," Condon writes.
Explaining the need for reshoots, Condon compares editing a film to putting together a puzzle, with "each piece -- each shot, no matter how brief -- needing to fit exactly with the ones around it." He describes the final shots as "tiny missing pieces" with no new scenes or dialogue.
"I am really looking forward to being back on set with some of the friends I've made on my Twilight journey, like the great Guillermo Navarro, our cinematographer, and his crew," says Condon. "And yes, Rob and Kristen will be there too, to pop in those gold contacts one last time..."
More Vampire Bella? Yes please!
For the benefit of impatient Twi-hards, Condon also revealed that Summit will soon be rolling out some more Breaking Dawn goodies.
"I'm excited to report that before too long we'll have another trailer for you to decode," Condon announced. "And wait until you see the first posters -- they're unlike any Twilight images you've seen before."
A new trailer "to decode," huh? Sounds like we may be in for another 14-second teaser. Then again, the Breaking Dawn - Part 2 theatrical trailer that premiered before The Hunger Games (see below) was a whole 48 seconds, so maybe they'll do us the decency of making them longer each time? (Plus, as we mentioned before, there are grainy sneak peeks of the final film available online.)
We're pretty curious about these posters he mentions, too. Condon says they're unlike any Twilight images we've seen before -- but will they cause half as much excitement as the feather-pillow promo photo from Breaking Dawn - Part 1?
The final Twilight film hits theaters on Nov. 16. Only 213 days to go!
