The Breast Cheese?

today show

One New York City-based chef is serving up some food you likely haven't had since you were a child—and we're not talking about pureed peas here.

Daniel Angerer, the chef at Klee Brasserie in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, has turned his wife’s breast milk into cheese. (Yes, cheese!) Seems Angerer could not bear to waste his wife’s excess breast milk for their 4-week-old daughter, Arabella, so he turned to the kitchen and created what may just be the first cheese derived from a human.

While the idea of eating this may make your insides curdle, some people were intrigued enough to try a taste. (Catch video here.) "Call me crazy, but breast milk is sweet, so I'd imagine it would make some tasty cheese," says iVillage Community member linny1974.
