Breastfeeding after a hysterectomy?

Is it possible to breastfeed after having a complete hysterectomy? If so what drug do I need to take to induce milk production, since my ovaries were removed?

Yes, it is possible to breastfeed after having a complete hysterectomy. Breastfeeding is regulated by hormones that are secreted by the hypothalmus and pituitary glands. Removal of the ovaries and/or the uterus does not affect your production of milk. It would not be necessary to be treated with medication to produce milk. Ovaries are necessary for pregnancy, but not for lactation. My very best wishes!
