If you thought one little brain hemorrhage would postpone Bret Michaels' reality-TV career for long, think again! Not only is Michaels, 47, the favorite to win this season's Celebrity Apprentice (ending Sunday), he's now set to star in a new VH1 show about his life.
Life As I Know It -- premiering with a half-hour special on Memorial Day -- will bring TV cameras into the rocker's home for the first time. Turns out there's a reason we never saw the Poison singer's real house on Rock of Love: apparently he lives on a "sprawling compound" with his ex-girlfriend Kristi Gibson and their two daughters (that could have created some awkwardness with Rock of Love's bikini-clad potential lovers, don't you think?). Michaels' kids, Raine Elizabeth, 10, and Jorja Bleu, 5 -- who refer to their dad as "Poppa Rocka" -- will make their VH1 debut on the show.
While Rock of Love made Michaels' life look like an endless party, his recent near-death experience -- and savvy Apprentice dealings with Donald Trump -- have made it clear that there's more to him than meets the eye. Life As I Know It will focus on the singer's more serious side, as he "juggles life on the road, his career, raising two kids and managing his on-again, off-again relationship with their beautiful mom, Kristi." Following the Memorial Day special, the full series will debut this fall.
Meanwhile, Bret Michaels fans can watch him Sunday, when Poppa Rocka goes head-to-head with Holly Robinson Peete for the live season finale of Celebrity Apprentice. Barring any diabetes-related health problems, Michaels is still scheduled to compete on the episode -- and while he may not yet be feeling 100%, we imagine he's never been more motivated to win that money for the American Diabetes Association.
