Doctors treating Bret Michaels, since his devastating brain hemorrhage earlier this month, are stunned by the fight the rocker has put up.

"There is no doubt that Mr. Michaels' condition is serious," his neurosurgeon Dr. Zabramski, of the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ., said in a statement, adding that medical experts are continuing their search to determine the cause of the subarachnoid hemorrhage.

But the Rock of Love star, who has two daughters, Raine, 9, and Jorja, 4, is giving his loved ones something to believe in and is leaving doctors in awe.

"Bret's sheer will to live and fully recover is undeniable," Zabramski said. "He has an unbelievable fight in him and told me what kept him alive at the moment of the hemorrhage was that he did not want his family to wake up and see him lying unconscious in the middle of the floor."

"It was a combination of Bret's fight to stay conscious during the hemorrhage and get to the emergency room and the immediate medical attention provided by our staff at Barrow that enabled us to stabilize his condition.”

Michaels' doctors are planning to hold a press conference Tuesday to give another update on the progress the Celebrity Apprentice competitor is making. Though he has encountered some setbacks since the hemorrhage, Michaels' rep says the Posion front man plans to get back on tour at the end of May.
