If you were asked to name most famous teen mom in the U.S., chances are you'd either pick Bristol Palin or one of the stars of the MTV reality hit Teen Mom. Since Maci, Farrah, Amber and Catelynn share Palin's experience of teen motherhood, you'd think they would have a lot to bond over -- but apparently, Sarah Palin's daughter isn't interested in making friends. According to PopEater, Bristol Palin, 20, wouldn't let producers invite the MTV stars to cheer her performance on Dancing with the Stars.
"Bristol Palin has made it very clear to the show producers that she doesn't want the teen moms in the audience cheering her on no matter how much it might boost ratings," an ABC exec told the website.
Bristol's friends explained to PopEater that she's was trying to craft a new image through Dancing with the Stars, and hopes to move away from her own "teen mom" days.
"We no longer think of her as Sarah Palin's daughter or that young girl who had a baby with Levi as a teen, but rather as a young lady trying hard to win a competition," says a source close to Bristol.
Okay, we hate to break it to Bristol Palin's buddies, but her Dancing with the Stars stint hasn't made us forget the two things Bristol is most famous for: being a daughter, and being a mother. If she really is intending to start over, what exactly is she starting over as? So far, her sole professional career has been as a spokesperson for abstinence, which ties directly into her teen-mom, political-daughter fame. And while she's likable on DWTS, we're not exactly seeing an entertainment career in Bristol's future.
So, why shun the other famous Teen Moms? It seems pretty unfair of Bristol, as they're doing exactly what she's done: capitalizing on their teen motherhood to make some money for their families. But hey, it's her decision in the end -- just like it was her decision to keep ex Levi Johnston far, far away from the set. Now that one, we understand completely.
