American Idol traveled to Oregon (Portland, to be exact) for the first time ever for Wednesday night's audtions episode, and the show might have found its season 11 winner there. Britney Spears look-alike Britnee Kellogg wowed the judges with her performance of "You're No Good" and, as an added bonus, moved them with her story. Watch the video below!
The 27-year-old mother of two boys said she had been "held back" from chasing her dreams by her ex-husband. "He's a basketball player and pursued his dreams and then he decided to go and pursue other women and basketball, so here I am," she explained.
"You have a beautiful sense of humor," Tyler said.
The Vancouver, Wash., native had Lopez singing along during her performance, and got three resounding yeses, sending her to the next stage of the Idol competition in Hollywood.
"I like this attitude, I like the vibe," Jackson said. "I love that."
Before she left the audition stage, though, Kellogg asked for Lopez's advice on how to juggle a music career with being a good mother. Lopez's answer was simple: You never leave your kids, and you just do it.
"Your kids are here, my kids are right out there. You have to be happy so they're happy," she said. "Make it happen. You have to be able to make it happen."
On the way out, Kellogg's eldest son could be heard saying, "My mom is the next American Idol!" Apparently Lopez was so wowed by the singer's performance that she responded to her fellow judges, "By the way, she just might be."
