Britney Spears' video for her new single "Criminal" is more like a sizzling fantasy starring her real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick than just another music video.
The video, directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, is so steamy it may not be safe to watch at work! It starts out with Spears, 29, and a pompous English guy on a date at a society gala. He quickly begins to abuse her verbally -- "Oy! When I'm talking to you, look me in the face and don't disrespect me" -- and then physically, by slapping her across the face.
But then out of nowhere appears her savior, played by Trawick, who gives the abusive boyfriend a much-deserved beating and then rides off to his flat with Brit-Brit behind him on his motorcycle. At his apartment, the two get busy, and Spears discovers her new lover is actually a wanted criminal.
Spears and her buff beau show a lot of skin in two rather lengthy love scenes (one in the bed, the other in the shower) interrupted by a quick hold-up of a convenience store a la Bonnie and Clyde. Eventually the cops show up, but the sexy duo manages to escape -- probably to find the nearest bed!
"Mama, I'm in love with a criminal. And this type of love isn't rational, it's physical," Spears sings in the chorus -- and yes, the controversial video definitely is physical.
