Good news for Britney lovers (hi, D!) as the pop star's dad will remain in control of his daughter's estate and decisions through the end of the year. Yup, a court ruled today that Jamie Spears will continue his conservatorship until Dec. 31.
"The extension of the conservatorship was at the request and suggestion of Britney's doctors," says a source close to the singer. "They've indicated she's made great improvement, but it's a work in progress. Jamie Spears doesn't want the conservatorship to last a day longer than the doctors recommend."
The case will be reviewed again on Oct. 28.
Also in court today, a Britney attorney told the Associated Press that he wouldn't seek to extend the restraining order against that creepy Sam Lutfi, because Britney had kicked him to the curb all on her own -- and with Jamie in charge, Sam won't get near Brit.
"During the temporary conservatorship, the conservators have the power to insure that Lutfi will not harm Britney anymore," the lawyer said.
But can they stop him from collecting her fingernails in a plastic bag?
