Britney Spears Hospital Stay Extended
Some good news, I think, this morning in the Britney Spears saga, as the fallen pop star's hospital stay has been extended, now that the initial 72-hour hold is up.
According to People.com, only Britney's psychiatrist would have had the power to request that the singer remain in UCLA Medical Center's psych ward for two more weeks, though Britney could be released if doctors think she is doing well enough for outpatient treatment. She could also be set free if she legally demands it.
It sounds like Britney is finally on the right to track to getting the help she needs, but a source close to Brit's fam says the clan is still so torn up by all of this. "It is a terrible situation," says a source close to the Spears family. "Britney is in a padded room. Her family is so worried about her."
