It seemed like Britney Spears was so happy with Jason Trawick. The pop star began dating her former agent in 2009, and became engaged to him in December 2011. During the time she was with Trawick, Spears got her career fully back on track, releasing the platinum album Femme Fatale and becoming an X Factor judge. She also stabilized her personal life, getting sober and regaining custody of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James (with ex-husband Kevin Federline). So why did Britney and Jason end their engagement on Friday?
Every relationship is complicated, but so far, the media is reporting three major sources of contention between Britney and Jason:
1. Britney wanted more kids. Trawick, 41, reportedly wasn't interested in having babies with Britney, 31, who was hoping to expand her family. (He did, however, become quite close to Sean and Jayden.) According to TMZ, he was in another place" when it came to expanding their family, and that caused tension.
2. The relationship felt too much like work. "He was more of a manager then a lover, so with no sexual chemistry, it was down hill from there," says a HollywoodLife source of Trawick. Her former agent, Trawick also became her conservator in April, meaning that he was in the Business of Britney 24/7. (He resigned his conservatorship when they announced their split.)
3. Britney wanted a house husband. "Britney had a lot of issues with Jason doing his own thing -- in business and seeing his friends," a source told People. "In her perfect world he would have been home with her twenty-four/seven, so that was a point of contention; something they were always working on."
On the plus side, it appears to have been a clean break-up; there are no affair rumors, and Britney has announced her commitment to remain "great friends" with Trawick. He definitely helped her start down the right path; hopefully, she can find the rest of her way without him.
