Beyonce might have revealed her pregnancy at the MTV Video Music Awards to much pomp and circumstance, but fellow pop star Britney Spears is advising the 30-year-old songstress to "treasure the moments" she has with her unborn child.

When asked by MTV News UK if she had any advice for Beyonce about her upcoming pregnancy recently, the "I Wanna Go" singer -- who has sons Sean Preston, 6, and Jayden James, 5, with ex-spouse Kevin Federline -- said the key to enjoying her first pregnancy fully is to make sure she lives up every minute of it.

"Just embrace it fully. And just to...do whatever you want to do," Spears said. "If you want to take two or three years off...because, you know, they grow so fast; it happens so fast. Just treasure the moments."

Beyonce -- whose most recent album, 4, was released earlier this year and who will start production on the Clint Eastwood remake of A Star Is Born after her baby is born -- recently said that pregnancy is changing her whole perspective.

"It is the most powerful creation for you to be able to have life growing inside of you," she told reporters on Wednesday night about expecting her first child with husband Jay-Z. "There is no bigger gift, nothing more empowering."

In terms of changes to her body, Beyonce said she has noticed she has a heightened sense of smell and can now "smell everything." The fashion icon also admitted that she doesn't plan on getting "matronly" or acting like her pregnancy is an "illness" that will slow her down.

"When you are excited about something, you don't have to think about your energy," she said. "I am not sick. I am the same woman and I have the same passions."
