Sam Lutfi, the self-proclaimed ex-manager of Britney Spears, made a lot of allegations against the X Factor judge and her family since his defamation trial started in October. He continued to drag Spears' name through the mud but without any evidence to prove his claims, which led the judge on the trial to throw away the entire case on Thursday.
"Everything you say, you have to be able to back it up," Los Angeles Supreme Court Judge Suzanne Bruguera warned Lutfi after the case went to court in October. "You can't waste time on statements just thrown in the air. Everything has to have evidence…There is no explanation that dancing is the best thing for her health...I'm trying to make a point and I hope you get it."
It turns out that Lutfi, who claimed that Spears' mom defamed him in her 2008 book and that her dad punched him in the chest that same year, never did provide that evidence. During the course of the trial, the 38-year-old claimed Spears was on speed when he worked for her and had shaved her head so she wouldn't fail drug tests. He also claimed that he was supposed to get 15 percent of her earnings as her manager.
TMZ reports that the entire case was thrown out on Thursday (Nov. 1) before it even went to jury. "The judge decided Lutfi had no case whatsoever against any members of the Spears family," the site writes.
Of course, that doesn't mean this story is over. Lutfi tells TMZ that he "plans to appeal the judge's decision."
