Brittany Murphy's final film, Abandoned, has been picked up by Anchor Bay Entertainment and is scheduled to be released this summer.

The actress, who passed away in December at the age of 32, worked with Dean Cain and Mimi Rogers on her last movie, which is a psychological thriller.

"Brittany will be deeply missed by everyone who worked on Abandoned. The film is a taut thriller which portrays Brittany’s character as smart and tough - and that’s how we all want to remember her,” producers Jeffrey Schenck and Barry Barnholtz said in a joint statement.

The Los Angeles County Coroner found that Murphy died of community acquired pneumonia with multiple drug intoxication.
