Almost as soon as the news of Brittany Murphy’s death came out, her husband was the target of much speculation and allegations – little of which was positive. But Simon Monjack remained quiet about the matter and about what had been said about him until some interview segments began surfacing on Tuesday.
The rumors that Brittanywas anorexic? "It's crazy," Monjack told People.com. "She was slim, but that was her natural physique. This is what's killing all of us? How did it happen? Her mum, myself and her family, we want to know why we lost our baby."
As he wept in an interview, Brittany’s widow lamented that “they're going to cut her open.”
Simon, who is a filmmaker said to be struggling with massive financial debts, has insisted that his late wife’s ailments were limited to “a heart murmur, which can cause fatigue, dizziness and irregular heartbeats.” He added that the only substances he knew of Brittany ingesting were “herbal remedies that wouldn't speed up her heart.”
"There was nothing here that could endanger her. There was prescription medication in the house for her female time and some cough syrup,” Monjack insisted. “That was it."
Monjack's exhortations seem to conflict with reports of her alleged physical and mental states in recent months.
In an ABCNews.com feature about Brittany’s death, there are accounts of her “going in and out of consciousness in the middle of takes” during filming of an as-yet released movie called Something Wicked. It also mentions a TMZ report about the coroner’s report that lists 10 different prescription medications found in the Monjack-Murphy home at the time of her death, including Klonopin, Ativan and Hydrocodone.
