Soon after it looked like Brooke Mueller was finally in recovery, she is returning to rehab.
A week after Mueller's rep said she was happy to put "this chapter of her life behind her," Mueller's camp confirmed to E! News on Thursday that the mother of twins -- Max and Bob, 3 -- has relapsed and has had to go back to rehab.
Charlie Sheen's ex-wife decision to check herself into rehab again, however, isn't as ominous as it seems, however.
"As part of her ongoing treatment and as planned, she voluntarily checked herself into a rehab facility several weeks ago," her rep told Celebuzz, which reports that she is still battling a crack-cocaine addiction.
Mueller, 34, has been in and out of rehab facilities since divorcing Sheen after their terrifying fight during Christmas of 2009 in Aspen. In December 2011, Mueller was arrested in Aspen for possession of cocaine (a felony) and assault (a misdemeanor). Sheen posted the $11,000 bail to have her released.
Following that arrest, Mueller went to rehab for the third time. Her rep Steve Honig said last December: "After further reflection and consideration, Brooke has decided to remove herself from the media spotlight and has entered a long-term in-patient treatment center where she can focus on her recovery without distraction."
During the year of probation she was slapped with for pleading guilty to the possession charge, Mueller is supposed to steer completely clear of drugs and alcohol, and having failed that, it makes sense that she would have to get more help for her ongoing substance abuse.
