After kissing Kitty on his magical porch swing, Alec is anxious to get more lovin' from the boney lady. He calls and calls, but Kitty is refusing to answer. The Senator tracks down Alec at the park (where else would he be?) and reminds him that he is an all powerful nearly-presidential man and he will do whatever it takes to protect his family. Alec is strangely unmoved. The Senator probably remembered who he was because he is finally back at work. Kitty throws him a surprise party, but The Senator can't stop being mad enough to thank her. Kevin notices and when he finds out why, he calls Kitty to task for her cheatin' heart. He reminds her that since she could never forgive her dad, she should probably stop acting like him. That thought puts her in a shame spiral and Kitty finally starts really thinking about her actions. She decides to remind Alec that she's married and then tells The Senator she needs some time apart to think things through.
Ryan apologizes to Rebecca for accidentally telling her the truth about his mission at Ojai. He then pretends he is her date to the Ojai party and then kisses her. That's too, too much for even Rebecca to deny that they are "just friends." Besides, she's otherwise occupied this episode (more on that later). However, she does tell Justin that Ryan thinks William Walker had something to do with his mother's death. Justin obviously tells the rest of the Walkers about the speculation. This sparks a memory in Kitty who has been thinking a lot about her dad. She remembers her father visiting in New York and series of phone calls that took him to Reno. She decides to tell Ryan about the trip. Speaking of trips, Nora asked The Senator to find Tommy. He does and Nora heads to Mexico to find her wayward son.
