Say it ain't so, Boss! With famous unfaithful men (Tiger Woods, Jesse James) making headlines left and right, could it be that beloved rocker Bruce Springsteen, 60, has joined the dubious club by cheating on his wife, Patti Scialfa (pictured)?
The New York Post is reporting that Ann Kelly, a (real) New Jersey housewife, engaged in an affair with Springsteen, resulting in a divorce from her husband of 17 years.
Mrs. Kelly's ex-husband Arthur Kelly filed claims that he and his spouse underwent marriage counseling due to her affair with Springsteen, and the papers also shed light on this incident: Mrs. Kelly reportedly went to have a "rendezvous" with the rocker while he was in the hospital.
The affair allegedly started in 2005 when the Grammy-winning rock star and the Garden State housewife met at an upscale gym in Red Bank, N.J., according to details that have emerged from the court papers.
Kelly, 45 (who reportedly had many lunches with Springsteen during their friendship -- she even brought her two children on occasion), allegedly had a pal alert her when Springsteen's wife would be out of town.
And that's not the worst accusation that could wound Scialfa, 56, Springsteen's wife of 18 years: The legal claim also alleges that the Boss not only told Mrs. Kelly "that he thought about her while he was on tour," but that he sent her Valentine's Day cards, as well.
While "a witness had spotted her kissing Springsteen in the parking lot of their gym", Mrs. Kelly has denied she had a sexual relationship with the rocker -- but admits her "relationship with Bruce Springsteen was inappropriate."
Springsteen's spokesperson failed to comment (uh-oh!), but a friend of the Springsteens said, "Bruce and Patti continue to have a terrific marriage and are very devoted to each other and their children." While we love Bruce's music, we sure don't like the sound of this.
