Bruce Springsteen Bosses Around the 'American Idol' Contestants!

Randy Jackson's the veteran, Jennifer Lopez is the diva and Steven Tyler's the rock legend. But now there's a new boss in town on American Idol!

That's right, Idol fans, Bruce Springsteen showed up on the set of the talent competition this week to give the remaining seven hopefuls a little advice on how to be a superstar.

"Holy pride of New Jersey....BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN in the studio right now listening to the idols sing!!!!" read a tweet, on the show's official Twitter page Friday.

This will be the first time "The Boss" has ever appeared on Idol, and we can only imagine the reactions that came from the contestants -- Casey Abrams, Lauren Alaina, Jacob Lusk, James Durbin, Stefano Langone, Haley Reinhart and Scotty McCreery.

No doubt American Idol has had some cool guest stars in the past, but could the "Born in the U.S.A." crooner be the coolest of them all?

Of course, we were already counting down the minutes until tomorrow's performance show -- but news of Springsteen's surprise appearance is making the wait that much tougher.
