Toss cheap, old makeup brushes that are beyond cleaning, especially those blush brushes and eye shadow swabs that come with compacts, advises Leann Sabato, makeup blogger at Cosmetiholic.com. Also important to note: You should clean your brushes at least once a month. "Every two weeks I run my makeup brushes under the faucet in the morning, add a drop of my face cleanser and wash them until the water runs clear," says Sabato. "Then I lay the brushes out to dry for the rest of the day."
