Toss cheap, old makeup brushes that are beyond cleaning, especially those blush brushes and eye shadow swabs that come with compacts, advises Leann Sabato, makeup blogger at Cosmetiholic.com
. Also important to note: You should clean your brushes at least once a month. "Every two weeks I run my makeup brushes under the faucet in the morning, add a drop of my face cleanser and wash them until the water runs clear," says Sabato. "Then I lay the brushes out to dry for the rest of the day."
