The Bunny’s Nest

Some say the Easter Bunny stores his treats and eggs in a special nest. This sweet version is made with butterscotch chips, but chocolate chips work, too.

Line 2 baking sheets with wax paper or parchment.

    • 2

Put the butterscotch morsels in a microwave-safe bowl, and melt them in the microwave: Heat on high for 60 seconds, stir well, then continue to heat, if needed, for 2 or 3 minutes in 10-second bursts, stirring well after each burst. (Alternatively, you can melt the pieces, stirring frequently, in a double boiler over just-simmering water.) Avoid overheating, which can cause the morsels to seize up into a stiff mass.

Stir the chow mein noodles into the melted butterscotch. Drop large spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheets, using the back of the spoon to press a little hollow into the center. While the nests are still warm, press a clutch of jellybeans or candy eggs into the center of each treat.
